Program Description

Description

The Ridgefield Library and Ridgefield Garden Club present a talk by photographer Lester Lefkowitz who will give a lecture and workshop on floral and garden photography.

In his own words, Lester Lefkowitz has been a photographer since before he was born.  He has supplied photographs to many Fortune-500 companies and major publications throughout the world, including National Geographic, The New York Times and Time Magazine.  Lester established the undergraduate art photography program at Stony Brook University, is the author of four books on photography, and has lectured to numerous arts and professional organizations.  He has photographed in all fifty states, twenty-one countries, Antarctica, and leads yearly photographic workshops in Italy and South America.

In his presentation, Lester will show over a hundred slides illustrating techniques and suggestions for improving nature and flower photography (Lester has written a textbook on close-up photography).  You’ll become more aware of light, composition, point of view and exposure, and learn techniques to improve your photographs.  Lester is an engaging, informative speaker. At a minimum, you’ll see a lot of great pictures!

Following the lecture, Lester will be available to answer questions about cameras, general photography, close-up photography, and even questions about Photoshop and Lightroom. He will also be available to offer thoughts and suggestions on your photo (whether printed or in digital format).
