Emergence: Paintings by Charles Gulbrandsen

Emergence - an exhibition of Charles Gulbrandsen's luminous abstract field paintings will be on view from May 24 through July 28 during regular Library hours. Gulbrandsen's new series of paintings explore the nature of light and luminosity - eliminating the traditional distinction between light and shadow. He describes his paintings as "a place where space and light are not separate...where luminous vessels define and complete the other within their own shimmering atmosphere."
