Program Description

Description

Learn about how to make your yard an oasis for nature and easy to care for while protecting the water that we all drink and soil we use. RCC Commissioner Erik Keller will give you a guide of how to approach the landscaping of your property with a focus on lawns, trees/shrubs, annual/perennial plants, and proper use of fertilizers/herbicides/pesticides.

Erik is a retired horticulturist and therapist at Ann’s Place, a not-for-profit facility that helps those with cancer. He is also the author of the recently published book, A Therapist's Garden. He has a Bachelor’s in Engineering Science from SUNY at Stony Brook. He also has received certification from the University of Connecticut as a Master Gardener and from The New York Botanical Garden in Horticultural Therapy.
