Description
Christine O’Keefe is a classically trained figurative artist, having studied drawing and oil painting at Silvermine School of Art in New Canaan CT over a period of about 6 years. She has studied privately with talented artists such as Mark Boedges, Steven Assael, as well as Florence Academy trained artists Jennifer Gennari and Jesus Villarreal. Additionally, she has studied extensively with artist Justin Wiest in Wilton CT painting live models, portrait and figures in oil. She was a member of The New Street Guild of Artists a group of women realist artists for about 10 years, while it existed.
O’Keefe is a lifetime lover of all animals and an active animal rights advocate. She served on the board of the Humane Society for about 20 years in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands. Over the past several years, she has devoted more and more of her work to painting animals, especially dogs, horses and wildlife. Art show in gallery on lower level of library open during regular library hours. Light refreshments will be served no registation necessary.
