Program Description

Description

Since its founding in 1960, Storm King Art Center in Mountainville, New York, has been supporting artists in the realization and presentation of some of their most ambitious works. Storm King nurtures a 500-acre landscape of rolling hills, fields, woods, and ponds in which visitors encounter vibrant works of modern and contemporary outdoor sculpture.

For their ARTalk, Assistant Curator Adela Goldsmith will discuss the history of the Art Center and the growth of its artistic program. Learn about the emergence of outdoor museums, key artworks and artists in Storm King’s permanent collection, recent publications, and current and upcoming exhibitions.

This series of lectures, films, and workshops focuses on art, architecture, and design is dedicated to exploring the creative process. ARTalks is co-sponsored by the Ridgefield Library and the Ridgefield Guild of Artists.
