Program Description

Description

Join exhibiting artist Colleen Kastner for a hands-on creative workshop inspired by her solo exhibition Weathered Hymns in Moss and Light. In this two-hour session, participants will explore how sketching, painting, and collage can become simple daily rituals that connect the beauty of the natural world with personal healing. Guided exercises will introduce ways to see nature more deeply, translate its moods into color, and layer fragments into wholeness through collage. Each participant will leave with a personal “healing page” and practical ideas for continuing gentle art practices at home. No experience required. All materials provided.

Colleen Kastner is a South African–born mixed media artist based in Connecticut, with deep ties to the Highlands–Cashiers Plateau of North Carolina. Her layered paintings combine charcoal, collage, watercolor, acrylic, and oil. Her current exhibition, Weathered Hymns in Moss and Light, explores the healing connection between nature, memory, and belonging. For more information on her work www.ColleenKastnerArt.com.
