Description
Join us for the fifth program in our special America 250 in Ridgefield: A Deep Dive into the Declaration of Independence series offered in collaboration with Keeler Tavern Museum & History Center.
In July 2026, the United States will celebrate the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. To mark that milestone in our nation’s history, the Museum of the American Revolution in Philadelphia is set to open the special exhibition The Declaration’s Journey on October 18, 2025, to reflect upon the 250-year global impact of the Declaration of Independence. Join Matthew Skic, project director of The Declaration’s Journey, to learn about the development of the exhibition and how the Declaration of Independence has become one of the most influential political documents in modern history.
Matthew Skic serves as the Director of Collections and Exhibitions at the Museum of the American Revolution in Philadelphia. He graduated with a B.A. in History from American University and joined the Museum’s staff in 2016 after receiving his M.A. from the Winterthur Program in American Material Culture at the University of Delaware.
Support for America 250 in Ridgefield: A Deep Dive into the Declaration of Independence is provided by CT Humanities as part of its America 250 CT program. Additional promotional support provided by Ridgefield Commemorates America at 250.
