Program Description

Description

In celebration of Women’s History Month and Ridgefield High School’s (RHS) upcoming production of Little Women: The Broadway Musical, the community is invited to an afternoon tea on Saturday, March 2, at 3 p.m. in the Garden House at Keeler Tavern Museum & History Center (KTM&HC).

The event is inspired by the 1860s setting of Louisa May Alcott's beloved story of four sisters growing up in Civil War-era New England. The talented cast of Ridgefield High School's Little Women will perform songs from the musical, and KTM&HC educators will provide context for Little Women's historical moment, sharing details about what life was like in Ridgefield for the women who lived in the tavern. Light refreshments will be accompanied by a signature-blend tea created by Queen B Coffee Company especially for the RHS spring musical.

This event is free and open to the public, with a suggested donation of $10/adult. Recommended for ages 10 and older. REGISTER HERE

"An Afternoon Tea" is a collaboration of KTM&HC, the RHS Theatre Boosters, the League of Women Voters of Ridgefield, the National Charity League’s Nutmeg Chapter, and the Ridgefield Library.

Little Women: The Broadway Musical, which brings to vivid life Alcott’s autobiographical novel about her family, will be performed on March 8, 9, 15, and 16 at 7 p.m. at the Ridgefield High School auditorium. To purchase tickets to the full performance, visit www.rhsperformingarts.info
